Homework tonight is spelling practice. Don't forget book orders are due tomorrow too.
Ask your child how we got two bulbs to shine brightly on the same circuit. Also ask them if the battery order matters. We starting using a multiplication algorithm today. We're going to needs lots of practice but we had a good start this morning. Ask your child how we did a problem like 28 x 4.
After library we took a reading comprehension test. Have you decided on your biography person yet?
Have a good night.
Homework tonight is a math page. Your child also picked a famous person to do a biography report about today. Please discuss your child's choice with him/her and feel free to change the person if you have a better idea. Remember some people are easier to find information on than others. Look for a note next week that will provide more details about the report.
Have a good evening.
Homework tonight is cursive practice. Students should do the capitals "A" and "C" pages.
This morning we started learning how to multiply numbers like 6 x 24. We practiced multiplying the tens first and then the ones. We'll do a lot more practice tomorrow.
This afternoon we read a story about some ducklings in Japan.
Have a good evening.

Please see the note for Family Math night that went home.
Homework tonight is spelling practice.
We started our multiplication ice cream sundaes today. Each day we'll take a timed test on one of the multiplication facts. Each page has 30 problems and the students will have two minutes to finish it with only two mistakes. Tomorrow we'll take the twos' test. The students who pass will take the fives' test on Monday. The students who don't pass will keep taking it daily until they pass. So it's important to start practicing the multiplication facts nightly. Your child should be able to tell you which test he/she is taking the next day. The order of tests will be: 2, 5, 10, 11, 9, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 12. We'll celebrate our hard work in June with a big ice cream sundae party!
We've added two new students to our class this week: Russell and Abriel.
