The first reading test of the WASL was time-consuming. We were so tired of reading that we spent the rest of the afternoon doing math.

Homework tonight is spelling practice. We'll take the final test tomorrow morning. A lot of students struggled to spell "stitches" right today.
It's true! Tomorrow our lunch will be provided by the PTO. Our class was the top seller from the last fund raiser, so they're bringing in pizzas and juice drinks for us. No need to bring a lunch.
Homework tonight is more cursive practice ("k" and "t").
We had two assemblies today. At the first one we watched kids grab money and prizes in the "Money Booth". One kid grabbed over $50! The second assembly featured Joel Brantley and his motivational Rock and Roll pre- WASL pep talk. The students liked singing along to some 50's-60's hits.
Tomorrow we'll practice for the reading WASL and continue working on multiplication in math. We also have a coloring contest to finish up and we need to discuss the Charles Lindbergh story.
Don't forget book orders are due on Friday.
Homework tonight is something new - practicing the cursive letters "l" and "h". My goal is to have at least one night of cursive homework through the rest of the year. Your child also has an alphabet chart that shows the correct form of each letter.
Fireman Pat came in today and told us all about fire safety in the home and gave us a bunch of free stuff as well. We started learning about magnetism in science today and discovered that magnets stick to iron.

Did I tell you that I scheduled a field trip to the MAC on Friday, June 8? We'll see the T-Rex named Sue and the Campbell House.
