Homework tonight is a spelling practice page.

We started an experiment today to see if water will evaporate at different rates depending on the air temperature.  Ask your chld where we placed our cups of water and which one will evaporate the fastest (or slowest).

Great article by Blanchette in the Sports page about Turiaf.  Read it if you get a chance.

Go Zags!

Homework tonight is a math page of extended facts.  Good luck.

We spent the afternoon taking a social studies test.  Ask your child how he/she did.  I should have them all corrrected next week, so look for them in a notebook soon.

Have a good evening.  The Zags are on tonight at 8:00.

I hope you enjoyed your four day weekend.  It's nice to look forward to a short week.  Homework tonight is cursive practice.  We've already learned the letters on the page so like it says at the top it's review.

Tomorrow afternoon we'll be taking a social studies test over the last chapter on immigration.  See if your child remembers some of the key terms such as "immigrant", "ancestor", "generation", and "diversity".

If you're looking for even more quality time, then you could always quiz them on their multiplication facts.  Just remember we're in process!

Two notes also went home tonight.  One is about the Board Meeting tomorrow night and the other one is a reminder that our class pictures are next Thursday.

Enjoy your evening.

I'm back!  Homework tonight is a math page with a maze.  Your child will need to know his/her square facts to find the way out.

Ask your child how he/she is doing on their writing assignment this week.  Everyone should be ready to publish tomorrow, but I know there are a couple of students who have not finished their rough drafts.

Tomorrow we'll find out what happens to two wet paper towels.  One is in a cup that 's covered and the other one is uncovered.  Will that make a difference.  And, by the way, there also on a balance scale.  What will the balance scale look like tomorrow?  Come to school tomorrow to find out the exciting conclusion.

No spelling test tomorrow.  Have a good night.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Homework tonight is a math page practicing the square facts.  (We'll catch up tomorrow night!)  Our new math chapter is going to focus on more multiplication facts, and we'll be pushing for more memorization.

This week we are going to go through the full writing process to complete a paper comparing and contrasting two things or people.  Ask your child what his/her topic is this week.

I'll be out tomorrow and will be back on Wednesday.

Until Wednesday...

Homework tonight is spelling practice in preparation for tomorrow's final test.  Don't forget to make them do it in cursive handwriting.

Ask your child about the fine presentation that Mrs. Ogden gave us about the history of Chattaroy.  They have some photocopied historic pictures to show you.

They got their math tests back today as well.

One last thing, check out the cool new Google map page by clicking here

Have a good night.

Tonight's homework is a little different.  I sent home a Valentine stationary for each student to write a paragraph about Valentine's Day.  They can write about a Valentine party, a favorite Valentine, or even a story about Valentine's Day.  It's pretty wide-open just as long as they write a paragraph of some kind.  Hopefully they'll remember to indent and use all the other conventions we've been practicing.
I also sent home a Valentine's list and reminded each student to make one for every name on the list.  And, thanks to Mrs. Garcia and Mrs. Clevenger, we have nice Valentine boxes sitting on our desks right now.

We took a math test this morning, so look for them in your child's notebook by Friday.

Enjoy your evening.

I'm late, so here's tonight's homework:  a math page reviewing what we learned about measuring angles.

Ask your child about our exciting science lesson today.  Which is denser:  cold or hot water?  How do you know?

See ya!
